No matter what time of year you head to Breckenridge there is going to be something for you to enjoy. From hiking in the summer, Oktoberfest in the fall, snowboarding, and skiing in the winter, there is something for everyone. Known as the most social mountain town, they live up to the hype. With festivals and events planned year-round.
Winter & Spring
Breckenridge gets more snow than most places in Colorado, so it only makes sense for it to be a winter wonderland for anyone that is into snowboarding or skiing. Whether you are a beginner or a skiing novice, Breckenridge has a place with you. Since they receive so much snow, the snowboard and skiing season lasts well into the spring. Going down the mountain while the sun is shining is one of the best feelings and we highly recommend a mid-spring ski trip!
If you’re worried about having nothing to do in the winter besides flying down the mountain on a board, we’ll be the first to tell you that the cold air doesn’t slow this town down for activities. One of the most popular winter events is an international snow sculpture championship. And with vibrant streets filled with shopping and delicious eateries, there’s always something to see and do.
Summer
Whether you head vertical on foot or your bike, the trails are something you don’t want to miss in Breckenridge. The summer fun in Breckenridge doesn’t stop there either, you can plan a day trip rafting the river, or try your hand at fishing. Whether you’re just looking for sun and a place to escape, Breckenridge has the views and resources to ensure your good time while there.
Autumn
If the scenery itself isn’t enough to convince you to visit in the fall, then don’t worry. This time of year is beautiful in the Rocky Mountains due to the breathtaking views and beautiful weather. Since the weather is so great for a short time in the fall it is the perfect time for outdoor activities like golfing, fishing and even horseback riding.
Breckenridge is also home to the highest winery and distillery in North America and owns the title of Best Brewery in Colorado. Oktoberfest is also a great way to experience Breckenridge. One big, three-day block party that you’re not going to want to miss out on.
