Whether you’re renting or you own a property in sunny Summit County, having the option to ski-in/ski-out is amazing and convenient for seven months out of the year. But, what about the rest of the year?
Breckenridge Is the Heart of Summit County
Fortunately, having a ski-in/ski-out property doesn’t mean that it’s useless in the warmer weather. Having that option means that during the summer, you’re just a stroll away from all the activities available during the summer. “I came for the winter and stayed for the summer” is something you often hear about Summit County, and Breckenridge specifically. If you’re at the Village at Breckenridge or the Grand Lodge Breckenridge, you’re a stone’s throw away from scenic hikes and biking trails. As well as all the shops and boutiques that line the main street.
What really helps make the most out of a ski-in/ski-out property is where you can get easily from it. In the winter, well that’s obvious. In the summer, you may have to venture a bit further out, but not by much.
Activities in Town
Give yourself and your family a little scare while you learn something on a ghost, saloon, or generally history tour! Out of the cornucopia of options for food, one option is to dine al fresco on a cool summer night in the Blue River Plaza. The plaza is an excellent place to walk along a river and see art sculptures year-round or learn about Summit County’s mining history. Among the many family-friendly activities the county has to offer, Peek A Boo Toys stands out as an excellent shopping option, located conveniently along with main street Breckenridge. For more adult fun, there are over 100 bars to choose from, meaning there’s no shortage of Friday night options to tie one on(off?). Check out the art district to see even more fascinating sculptures and installations along the way. Not to mention the drive-in theater for some old-fashioned movie-watching fun.
Further out than the main street, the county boasts a wide variety of summer interests. Go on a hot air balloon ride and see all the sights at once!
Have a Picnic along the Blue River or take a fly fishing tour in several of Breckenridge’s rivers. Go running, biking, and cycling on seemingly endless amounts of natural and man-made trails. For much much more, check out what’s happening on the Breckenridge community calendar!
