Spring Fever (n): A feeling of restlessness and excitement felt at the beginning of spring.
Are you itching to soak in the Colorado sunshine on an on-mountain patio while simultaneously sipping your iced tea? If so, you are likely experiencing the symptoms of spring fever and Breckenridge has the cure! Winter may be gone, Breckenridge Spring Fever is back for another year of celebration! This month-long festival will feature exciting ski and ride competitions, great live music, blue bird skys, of course, a chilli cookoff. If you are not in town, then you are missing out!
Spring Fever April Events
Saturday, April 2 – Mountain Dew Park Competition
An all new slopestyle ski and ride competition for Breckenridge! The features both pro and amateur athletes as they compete on Park Lane’s Triple Jump Line.
Sunday, April 3 – Beer & Chili Cookoff
A delicious and fiery competition that you do not want to miss! Meet us at 12PM at Sevens Restaurant to indulge in all of the chili you can eat, prepared by the best Chefs from around Breckenridge. Vote for your favorite recipe!
Saturday, April 9 – Spring Fever Beer Festival
This premiere springtime event is back for its 10th year; beginning at noon in the heart of downtown (right by our office), the festival will showcase craft beers from over 35 breweries. Food and retail vendors will also be on-site.
Wednesday, April 13 – Breckenridge Ascent Series: Final Race
The final race of the Ascent Series, the challenge consists of a five hill climb event that starts from the base of Peak 7. Racers can make the ascent using any means they prefer (snowshoe, Nordic skis, telemark, etc) but must descend on skis or a snowboard.
Saturday, April 23 – The Imperial Challenge
The most unique pseudo-triathlon around returns for its 25th year in Breckenridge! Participants ride their bikes for six miles to the base of Peak 8 where they proceed to ascend to the summit, then back to the base to finish!
Sunday, April 24 – Closing Day for Breckenridge Ski Resort
Pull on your cowboy boots and head over to Ski Hill Grill on Peak 8 for an afternoon BBQ party. Be sure to check out the venue’s patio for live music and mechanical bull rides.
Spring Fever Concert Series
All concerts will be free to the public and no lift ticket will be required. Simply take the Gondola up and jam out to terrific live music. All concerts will take place on a specially-constructed stage on the snow at the base of Peak 8 and are scheduled to start at 3 PM.
Saturday, April 9 – Michael Franti & Spearhead
Michael Franti combines his love for R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and poetry into a unique blend of inspirational music. As Michael likes to say, “All of the freaky people make the best music.”
Saturday, April 16 -Lukas Nelson & Promise of Real
The son of music legend Willie Nelson, Lukas has been playing guitar since age 11. The band’s cowboy vibe meshes with a gritty rock and roll feel that creates a high-energy rock show.
Sunday, April 17 – Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue
Troy Andrews and his band flawlessly pair their NOLA jazz heritage with modern funk. A multi-instrumentalist, Troy is best known as a trombone and trumpet player but also performs on the drums, organ, and tuba.
