While it’s holiday season for most of the country, it’s ski season here in Breckenridge! After an already bountiful November, the fresh snow continues to fall almost daily here. Fresh powder is bountiful this time of year and nothing is more exciting than hitting the slopes after a new snowfall.

That being said, it is no wonder that most of the T-Bar is open, including; Contest Bowl, Horseshoe Bowl, Pika, Ptarmigan, Forget-me-not and White Crown. Other runs open now are Beaver Run SuperChair and Mercury Chair on Peak 9 as well as the famous Devil’s Crotch, Tom’s Baby and Mine Shaft.

Peak 7 will reopen on December 5th, weather permitting, giving skiers access to the Independence SuperChair and 5 additional runs.

The ski season here in Breckenridge marks basically the beginning of the year for residents. The city becomes alive One of the best events of the year is the Dew Tour Mountain Championship. Spectators enjoy four days of snowboard and freeski competitions as well as contests, games, meet and greet with the athletes and live music performances. The Dew Tour Experience begins December 11th and ends on the 14th.

Breckenridge has a little bit of everything for the entire family to enjoy. Head over to Carter Park for some enjoyable and thrilling sledding down the hill. Have some ice skaters in the family? Bring them over to Stephen C. West Arena and get zip around their ice rink.

Perhaps a day at the spa is more you speed? Breckenridge proudly has some of the best relaxation and rejuvenation centers in the world. Whether it is after a day on the slopes or day of shopping, your sore muscles will get worked on.

Town

If December and January are your favorite months to ski and snowboard, you must come experience it in Breckenridge. While later months (March and April) can be less crowded, it can also lack daily snowfall. Be sure to always obey all the posted signs and warnings. Trails may be closed at times to contain hazards and protect safety.

If you are familiar with our area then you know that crowds are the largest during the weekends and major holidays. We invite you to visit during the week to avoid long lines and fresher slopes.
