What’s better than blue skies, fresh snow and Santa Claus? Fresh snow on new terrain that has yet to be touched, ever, was a pretty legit present for most Summit County locals. On December 25, 2013, Breckenridge Ski Resort opened Peak 6, expanding the resort by 550 acres. The opening of Peak 6 marks one the biggest ski area terrain expansions in North America in the past decade, and will be the first in Breck since they added peak 7 in 2002.

Serenity Bowl via “peak 6 and 1/2”

Via the Peak 6 lifts Kensho and Zendo, skiiers and riders can now access above-treeline intermediate and expert terrain. Hike up to the top of peak 6 to find the best powder stashes on Serenity Bowl, or catch the high alpine bowl runs right off the lift to Awaken the Sixth Sense on runs like Deja-Vu, Lost Horizon, and Wanderlust. If you make the hike, be sure to catch the amazing  top of the world views of Copper Mountain to the West, and Keystone Resort to the East. Come ski peak 6 and be one of the first!
